David P. Daye
David P. Daye was born on Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada – an original Cajun, you might say. He grew up in Southern Alberta, lived briefly in Australia, moved to Louisiana in 1980, and became a naturalized American citizen in 1991.
After a successful teaching career, Mr. Daye began his legal education at the University of Alberta, in Edmonton. Declining an invitation to the Bar Review following his freshman year, he transferred to Tulane to complete his legal studies, winning Tulane’s book prize for Advanced Criminal Procedure in the process, and graduated Cum Laude in 1982. In addition to his Juris Doctorate, he had previously earned a B.P.E and a B.Ed. from the University of Calgary.
While he has a wide-ranging civil and criminal practice, most of the cases Mr. Daye handles fall in the areas of personal injury, workers compensation and Social Security disability claims. He is a member of the National Organization of Social Security Claims Representatives (NOSSCR) and of the Fifth Circuit Organization of Social Security Claims Representatives (FOSSCR). He represents claimants at hearings not only in Shreveport, but in Monroe, Alexandria, Texarkana and Marshall, Texas.
Mr. Daye’s leisure pursuits include trout fishing, canoeing, wood-working, pool tournaments, watching the Mudbugs and riding his motorcycle.
Ralph Scott Bowie
Ralph Scott Bowie is a partner in the law firm of Daye, Bowie & Beresko, APLC. Mr. Bowie graduated from Louisiana Tech University with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering (1973); received both a B.A. in Accounting (1980); and a M.B.A. (1978) from University of West Florida and received his Juris Doctor degree (1983) from Louisiana University Law School. He is a licensed, professional chemical engineer. His law practice is primarily in the areas of both business and consumer bankruptcy and personal injury. He represents debtors and creditors in bankruptcy matters. Mr. Bowie is one of only five attorneys certified by the Louisiana Board of Legal Specialization as both a consumer bank specialist and a business bankruptcy specialist. Mr. Bowie serves on the Bankruptcy Advisory Commission for the Louisiana Board of Legal Specialization. He is a member of the Shreveport Bar Association, Louisiana Bar Association, American Bankruptcy Institute and National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys.
Alfred R. Beresko
Alfred R. Beresko received his Juris Doctorate Degree from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, in 1980. He is a Board Certified Family Law Specialist, and he is a member of the Family Law Council and Family Law Advisory Committee of the Louisiana State Bar Association. In addition to his Juris Doctorate, he earned his B.A. in Political Science at LSU-Shreveport.
Mr. Beresko represents clients with issues involving divorce, child custody, child support, and spousal support, adoptions, name changes, property division, wills and successions. Additionally, Mr. Beresko handles cases concerning the Lemon Law and the Louisiana State Law of Redhibition. If you have an automobile that is a ‘lemon’, he can help you rescind the sale. Redhibition applied not only to defective automobiles, but also to many other products which may include, but are not limited to, motor homes and mobile homes. Mr. Beresko has successfully represented hundreds of clients against all major manufacturers and dealers. He is one of the first attorneys in the area to concentrate in this area of the law.
In his spare time, Mr. Beresko enjoys reading and working in his yard.
